Wing Chun lineage

What Is the Wing Chun Lineage?

The Wing Chun lineage is like a family tree for martial artists.

It shows how the art has been passed down from teacher to student over generations.

Knowing the Wing Chun lineage helps you understand where the techniques come from and who helped shape them over time.

It connects you to a long history of martial artists who have kept the style alive and growing.

Our lineage

Instructor Vincent began his Wing Chun journey at Jim Fung’s International Wing Chun Academy under some of Jim Fung’s most senior students. Jim Fung was an accomplished student of Chu Shong Tin, who was one of the four closed-door students of Yip Man (probably the most famous Wing Chun practitioner, credited with bringing Wing Chun to the wider international community and teacher of Bruce Lee). After Jim Fung passed away in 2007, students in Australia maintained a close connection with Chu Shong Tin in Hong Kong, travelling to train with him regularly.

We are privileged to have such a close connection with many of the top practitioners in the art in the UK, Europe, Australia, and Hong Kong.
